Changes should not be caused only by something bad. Instead, something similar does not necessarily being enjoyed forever. A change does not mean the loss of footing or belief from the past things, but there is a desire to explore further what has been the world and technology provide. This is the philosophy that became the grip of One Foot Japan, the band that came from Jakarta, for their music concept at present.
One Foot Japan (OFJ) came from Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Begin at the end of 2002, five friends that were influenced by Blink 182 and New Found Glory, try to form a band with a similar breath. In mid-2003, OFJ focus of concentration to produce their own work which culminated on the released of the first album in early 2004, entitled “Frustrated”, which the production, promotion and distribution were conducted independently.
In the mid-year 2006, the formation OFJ got a major renovation. All the instrument players replaced, only the vocalist who stayed so that the band line-up to be: Vadiel (vocal), Kemal (guitar left), Mika (guitar right) and Fajar (bass). Together - with the various Metal and Pop Punk bands from Jakarta Scene, a compilation album titled “Save Our Community vol.2” was resulting in a range of time. Some changes were made later, precisely at the beginning of 2008. The main change were done on the management side and also the addition of personnel, Atfent (synthesizer), to support the new concept of material OFJ carried in the new album titled “Sketsa Nista Belaka”, which released under OFJ’s own label, mazing Relightning Records.
“Jalani Hari! Tak’kan Ada Akhir!” was choosen as a single from the ten songs in this album. The song, which took daily life as a theme, is expected to stimulate people to keep the positive mind and life. Similar with “Jalani Hari! Tak’kan Ada Akhir!”, the theme of daily life are the foundation of almost all the songs in this album. With the album “Sketsa Nista Belaka,” OFJ look forward to presenting a different alternative to the world music in this country.
