MORRIS

Morris formed in 2007 in Jakarta and consist of Austino Bantrang Aribowo (Vocals), M Citra Barata (Guitar) Hardiansyah (Keyboards), Dodi Widyono (Bass) and Lulud Pambudi (Drums). The band named Morris, We describe ourself as a Pop Band. We are Pop Band, a Manchester sound with Emotional attitude. We create many songs in some way we like, not only one type of music. We have strong character in some ways. The sound piano, synth, guitar, bass, and vocal that are so typical will be known as Morris. The name of Morris itself doesn’t mean anything, it just a name with no meaning…. just like a rose with any other name would smell as sweet… ;) We’re on the way of searching a record label to release our songs. We had recorded 6 songs on the begining of this year. The process has been done by our self, from tracking, balancing until mastering. We still produce other songs until now. so just enjoy our music, we hope you can enjoy..!!!

Jack and Four Men

Jack and Four Men was formed for the first time in October 2003 by Riki (Singer), Jack (Guitar), Guruh (Guitar), Obet (Bass), and Andri (Drum). It all happened when these guys listened a lot to the bands such as The Strokes, The Libertines, The White Stripes. And then they started the idea to create a band with the name Jack and Four Men.

Jack and Four Men started playing their own musics since Windy came and joined the band, and until now the band trusts Windy to write all the musics. They never describe specificly about their musics kind. They said, “It’s just rock musics with something rough in it. The only thing that we think is just the best way to have fun with every honest things inside us.”.

The band’s influenced a lot by musicians such as The Beatles, Oasis, BB King, Blur, and many more. In August, 2007, Jack and Four Men Released their First self titled EP and did the first tour to Purwokerto, Jogjakarta, and Jakarta to do the EP launching show. As the time rolls on, there’s so much things that have been through that made the band had to get used with just a single guitar player. Now Jack and Four Men just has 4 people in it which are Riki (Vocals), Windy (Guitar, Vocals), Andri (Drums), and Duano (Bass, Vocals).

OneFootJapan

Changes should not be caused only by something bad. Instead, something similar does not necessarily being enjoyed forever. A change does not mean the loss of footing or belief from the past things, but there is a desire to explore further what has been the world and technology provide. This is the philosophy that became the grip of One Foot Japan, the band that came from Jakarta, for their music concept at present.

One Foot Japan (OFJ) came from Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Begin at the end of 2002, five friends that were influenced by Blink 182 and New Found Glory, try to form a band with a similar breath. In mid-2003, OFJ focus of concentration to produce their own work which culminated on the released of the first album in early 2004, entitled “Frustrated”, which the production, promotion and distribution were conducted independently.

In the mid-year 2006, the formation OFJ got a major renovation. All the instrument players replaced, only the vocalist who stayed so that the band line-up to be: Vadiel (vocal), Kemal (guitar left), Mika (guitar right) and Fajar (bass). Together - with the various Metal and Pop Punk bands from Jakarta Scene, a compilation album titled “Save Our Community vol.2” was resulting in a range of time. Some changes were made later, precisely at the beginning of 2008. The main change were done on the management side and also the addition of personnel, Atfent (synthesizer), to support the new concept of material OFJ carried in the new album titled “Sketsa Nista Belaka”, which released under OFJ’s own label, mazing Relightning Records.

“Jalani Hari! Tak’kan Ada Akhir!” was choosen as a single from the ten songs in this album. The song, which took daily life as a theme, is expected to stimulate people to keep the positive mind and life. Similar with “Jalani Hari! Tak’kan Ada Akhir!”, the theme of daily life are the foundation of almost all the songs in this album. With the album “Sketsa Nista Belaka,” OFJ look forward to presenting a different alternative to the world music in this country.

Black Star

Black Star formed back in 1999 as a 4 piece rock band, after several face
lifts, and line up changes they returned with a bang in 2006 as a 5 piece
experimental-pop band. The songs have graceful melodies and unique sounds.
Their songs will simply stick in your head. They have been described by
some as “a cross between Radiohead and Travis”.

After learning their craft for years as a cover band on the local circuit, in Jakarta Black Star have recorded a 3 track Demo, which combines Black Star’s dark lyrics with stadium-ready melodies to blend out a record full of beautiful strange sound. The Demo was created in modest time, and contains fan favourite and standout track “Insomnia”. The band is currently gigging relentlessly showcasing their songs at any given opportunity.

Black Star, are all local lads from Lebak Bulus in Jakarta, and have been playing in bands from early ages, Emir (Lead singer, 21), Aloel (Guitar, 26), Yudi (Guitar, 23), Q-nos (Bass, 27), Rob (Drum, 26), and Ine (Keyboard, 23) are highly skilled, and respected musicians within the area.

Once the band had formed, they set about writing and gigging with great success. Within a few months they had over 15 songs with which the band are both proud of, and believe in. They take their fan base with them to every gig, and are always on form, both on stage and off. And have gained a good reputation from every cafè, club, school party and street corner they have performed at. In December 2008, the band shall release their debut album, under an indie label, Fiasco Records.
